Foods



Obviously, no blog about foods or cooking can be done without food. Since this blog is about cooking for picky eaters, I may as well list the foods that I won’t or can’t eat.

  • Mushrooms - Not in any way, shape, or form.
  • Vegetables - Pretty much all vegetables turn my stomach with few exceptions.
  • Liver - I can’t even stay in a house where this is being cooked.
  • Cabbage - I can’t even stay in a house where this is being cooked.
  • Tomatoes - This is mostly a physical revulsion. I can eat ketchup, and some very fine sauces that do not have clumps of tomatoe.
  • Onions - I like the taste, but will get ill if I bite into a piece of one.
  • Pureed Foods - Most pureed foods make me gag.
  • Cantaloupe - And similar melons disgust me.
  • Bell Pepper - I can eat these raw, but the texyture of cooked peppers nauseats me.
  • Mashed Potatoes - The texture disgusts me. I have no problem with potatoes cooked by other means.
  • Shellfish - Raw clams, oysters, mussels, etc… gag me. I can tolerate them cooked, but prefer to avoiid them altogether.
  •  Cottage Cheese - And similar products including cheesecake.
  • Soft Cheeses - And cheeses that look moldy such as Brie, Bleu cheese, etc…
