Welcome to part six of this series. In this segment I will discuss how to determine your cost to make each chocolate.
Now that you have gathered all the tools and materials needed to launch your business, it's time to make some samples of your intended products. At the very least you need to do this to calculate how much it will cost you to make them, and for some business models you may also be using them as a selling tool. If you are not planning on a POS model, these samples may be also be needed for - a) as actual samples of your product or b) for photography (brochure or web site).
Timing
Your time is valuable so you need to know how long it takes to produce each
one so time everything when sampling. Timing should be split into two factors
which I like to call group time and solo time as explained below:
